Lego NXT

Compared to the RCX the NXT unit has some advantages and some disadvantages with regards to permanent robotic automation systems.

Advantages:

1. One more sensor input
2. Motors have rotation sensors build in
3. The NXT doesn't get flashed when out of power
4. Low Watt draw in running mode (with education charge package).
5. Software runs on all platforms

Disadvantages

1. Motors are really noisy
2. Getting the values of the sensors to display on the NXT screen is cumbersome
